How do I get my application started?

Thank you for your interest in Rently Care!

Simply sign up for an account with Singpass, and proceed to apply for Rently Care from the banner you see on the front page.

You will be required to fill up an application form in the app itself that should take you between 5 and 10 minutes.

How long does it take for my application to be approved?

Applications are only formally processed once you have found an apartment and uploaded your tenancy agreement (plus other documents).

After which, depending on the quality of your documents, approvals can take anywhere from 1 to 3 working days.

How long does it take for the deposit to be paid to my landlord?

In the application form, you are required to indicate when your deposit will be due.

Based on this date, after your application is approved with your documents verified, we will proceed to make the payment on the date indicated.

Note that delays in your application approval might affect the timely payment of this deposit, so do ensure that your documents are properly uploaded for expedited verification.

How do I know when the deposit has been paid?

Once the deposit has been paid out by our team, you should receive a notification in your Rently app that we have done so. A deposit confirmation slip will also be uploaded as part of your application documents in the app, which should appear shortly after the deposit is paid out.

I am still looking for an apartment and am unsure when I will start renting. Can I still apply?

Absolutely! Our questionnaire will ask if you've found a place already or not. If you have not, you will go through a pre-approval process where you may provide an estimate of when you intend to start renting. Once you have found a place and obtained your tenancy agreement, you may then proceed with a formal application with us.

Plus, Rently also allows you to discover properties available for rent (and are eligible for Rently Care!), so you should download the app and sign up to check out our available properties.

If I am already renting an apartment with my deposit paid to the landlord, can I still apply for Rently Care?

For mid-lease transfers, please contact our support team at +65 6232 6651 for us to assist you better. Our operating hours are between 9am and 6pm, Mondays to Fridays only.

Do I begin paying after getting pre-approved?

No, you will not make any payments until you formally apply with all required documents: your tenancy agreement, payslips, bank statements and work pass documents (if applicable), add a credit card in our payment system, sign the service agreement, and are approved by our Rently Care officers after reviewing your application.

Pre-approvals only provide an estimated quotation for your reference, should you proceed with a formal application with us.

What should I do once my application is approved?

To maximise your benefits with Rently Care, do ensure that you use our inventory tracking system on the app to log the condition of the furniture, or any defects (including photos) to prevent potential disputes with your landlord.

Is Rently's service a loan?

No, Rently's service is not a loan. We provide a service that pays the security deposit required by landlords on behalf of tenants. This is a facilitative service aimed at easing the initial financial burden for tenants when securing a lease.

What happens if there's damage to the property?

As a tenant, you are responsible for any damages that occur during your tenancy, excluding normal wear and tear.

If damages are present, you would need to cover the cost of repairs, which could include the forfeiture of your security deposit paid by Rently.

How does Rently assist if there is a dispute over the security deposit?

In the event of a dispute where the landlord is withholding the security deposit unfairly, Rently will step in to handle the dispute on your behalf.

Our service includes support in dispute resolution to ensure that the security deposit is managed fairly according to the terms of the lease agreement.

What is required of me if Rently pays my security deposit?

If Rently pays your security deposit, you would be required to abide by the terms set forth in your agreement with us. This typically includes repaying Rently for the security deposit in instances where it's justified, such as when there's damage to the property.

What happens if the landlord withholds my security deposit?

Should your landlord withhold your security deposit at the end of your tenancy for reasons deemed justifiable, such as property damage beyond normal wear and tear, you are required to reimburse Rently for the amount paid out on your behalf.

Conversely, if the withholding of the deposit is not justified, Rently will engage in dispute resolution proceedings to recover the deposit.

I wish to get Rently Care for a commercial unit (warehouse, retail or office space) instead of my home. Can I still apply?

For commercial leases, you may contact our Rently Care support team at +65 6232 6651 between 9am and 6pm, Mondays to Fridays only.

I still have some questions about Rently Care. How do I reach out?

You may contact our Rently Care support team at +65 6232 6651 between 9am and 6pm, Mondays to Fridays only.
